First Tracks

At exactly 9 a.m. on October 13, 2006, Arapahoe Basin cranked up its Exhibition chair lift and sent skiers and snowboarders off for the first official run of the season in Colorado. Jeff Meyer, 26, Nate Dogggg, 26, and Trailer Tom, 26, camped out all night to get the opportunity to ride Colorado's first official chair lift ride for the sixth year in a row. The first chair was dedicated to former Summit Daily News photographer Brad Odekirk, who died last summer in a freak accident. "I don't think there was anybody in the county who knew as many people as he did, said photographer Bob Winsett. "He was a well-loved guy, that's for sure.
