Champion, PA, Mar. 13--Despite an ongoing courtbattle that has members of the Dupre family-owners of Seven SpringsMountain Resort-trying to decide whether to sell the ski area, operatorsannounced Friday they were going ahead with a planned $6.5 millionimprovement plan expected to last for the next nine months.
The plan calls for a new 35,000-square-foot skier services building and a newly designed4,000-foot intermediate trail network.
The new building will house season pass and group sales, ski school sales,a day care facility, lockers, changing areas, restrooms, a lounge and aretail shop. The upper level, where the retail shop will be located, willconnect with the main lodge via an overhead walkway.
The new trail network will be designed for Giant Steps Slope, but will also maintain the mainslope for advanced skiers. A new traversing trail will be lined withevergreens and will be lighted for night skiing.
