Snowbird Announces $200 Spring Pass

April 11, 2005

Snowbird, Utah — As other resorts around the country prepare to close the lifts, the spring fun is just beginning at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort. A new Spring Pass allows skiers and riders to enjoy all the snow they want through the end of the season for only $200.

Snowbird was slammed with over 11 feet of snow in the last 11 days of March, which propelled the season-to-date snowfall total past the annual average of 500 inches to 548 inches. The mid-mountain base is currently at an outstanding 186 inches and forecasters are calling for additional accumulations of multiple feet this weekend.

Skiers and riders can enjoy the massive amounts of snow with Snowbird's new $200 spring pass, valid through Snowbird's anticipated closing date of Memorial Day, May 30, 2005. Snowbird offers the longest ski and snowboard season in Utah and plans to stay open for daily skiing and riding through May 8 and will operate weekends through May 30, conditions permitting. Hours and lifts will be reduced throughout May. To purchase the spring pass or for more information contact Snowbird Tickets at (801) 933-2200.

Upcoming InSpring events:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, April 15-17 — The North American Gelande Championships return to Little Cottonwood Canyon for the second straight year. The contest features professional and amateur ski jumpers soaring hundreds of feet using alpine ski equipment.

Saturday, Sunday, April 23-24 — Snowbird's new InSpring Slopestyle and Superpipe Competition will be open to amateur skiers and riders eager to show their skills.

Saturday, April 30 — Snowshoers will climb 3,000 vertical feet from the Snowbird Center to Hidden Peak in the new Snowbird Snowshoe Scamper snowshoe race.

Live music will entertain skiers and riders on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. through May 1.
