ALTENMARKT-ZAUCHENSEE, Austria, Jan. 16 (AP by Jan Sliva)--Austria's Renate Goetschl won a women's World Cup super-G Sunday, confirming her status as the circuit's most versatile skier.

Goetschl, who regularly earns points in all four Alpine events, covered the bumpy Kaelberloch course in 1 minute, 29.14 seconds, for the first victory by an Austrian woman in 13 months.

She now leads the super-G standings and is fifth in downhill, eighth in giant slalom and 11th in slalom.

``I like this course and I was determined to win,'' Goetschl said. ``It's a fantastic feeling to be on top again. When I finished today, I said to myself: 'Finally!'''

Goetschl was seventh at the first intermediate time, but was by far the fastest on the bottom portion.

Describing the atmosphere in the Austrian women's team and the expectations it faces before every World Cup race, Goetschl said: ``When one of us wins, it's considered a standard achievement. When we lose, everyone speculates what should be done better.''

Goetschl's compatriot, Tanja Schneider, finished second at 1:29.43 and Germany's Regina Haeusl was third at 1:29.55.

It was Haeusl's second podium finish in two days. She was second in Saturday's downhill.

Haeusl's teammate, Martina Ertl, finished fourth at 1:29.60, ahead of Slovenia's Mojca Suhadolc, the winner of the season's opening super-G, fifth at 1:29.76.

In moving atop the super-G standings, Goetschl overtook Isolde Kostner of Italy, who finished 19th.

The surprise winner of Saturday's downhill, Corinne Rey Bellet of Switzerland, was 16th.

Austria's Michaela Dorfmeister, sixth on Sunday, remained the World Cup overall leader with 725 points. Goetschl is second with 686, followed by Kostner at 505. XtremeSports
