I would very highly recommend Head Edge +8 boots - they are women-specific and VERY comfortable. These have been my beginner boots and I'm now moving to a more intermediate boot with a higher flex, but I'm sticking with Head. Incredibly comfortable. Make sure you get a good bootfitter to help you! Good luck!

Ski boots are the most important piece of equipment in your Quiver. Recommend that you NOT buy ski boots on the Internet, but instead see a boot fitter at a ski shop. Once you find the boot that creates no "hot" spots, buy it! You may want to demo a ski boot first and if the boot fits, the shop will sometimes sell the same boot at a discounted (used) price. Avoid wearing heavy wool socks; two thin pair work better. And breaking in a new boot can be frustrating, but don't give up. Proper Ski Boot Orthodics can be a great tool/method changing how a ski boot ultimately fits. I find by inserting a hair blower and warming the liner can greatly enhance the fit. If your feet get cold, don't blame the boots. You might want to just back off the buckles. Good luck!

well it goes like this, the higher 'performance' you want out of a boot, the stiffer it is and the less comfortable it is, so if you are just starting, definitely get something comfortable. It also depends on your feet! if you feel you have quite regularly shaped feet, then chances are you will be fine in almost any beginner boot, but if for example you have particularly wide feet, or a high instep etc, then it is really important to you go to a shop and get someone to fit the boot for you. try on a few pairs. also, once you start skiing, if you have problems, go to a shop. its amazing what they can do, cut into liners to make them fit, put footbeds in, loads of stuff. Ski boots are never the most comfortable footwear, but dont make life more uncomfortable than it needs to be .....good luck!!!
