Helly Hansen's LIFA Base Layer Explained

Helly Hansen's LIFA Base Layer Explained

Helly Hansen product director explains LIFA technology
posted: 01/24/2012

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times. Few things are more important in ensuring a happy, comfortable ski day than your next-to-skin layer. As you ski, your body temperature rises, and you perspire. Trapped under multiple layers of clothing, that perspiration has nowhere to go. Unchecked, it will sit on your skin, and anyone who has stepped out of a shower or swimming pool knows, wet skin is cold skin. Work up a good sweat coming down the hill, then jump on a chairlift, and you have a recipe for a long, cold, miserable day. Helly Hansen’s Kristoffer Ulriksen demonstrates how the company’s proprietary LIFA technology, used in HH Warm, HH Dry and HH One fabrics, performs differently than some other materials commonly used in next-to-skin base layer products.
