LAKE LOUISE, Alberta: Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, and the U.S. Women's Alpine Team was in Lake Louise, Alberta this last weekend. Friday, Vonn won her eighth downhill on that course. Saturday, she notched a back-to-back win on the second day of downhill. And Sunday, she topped the podium in Super G, too, notching her 45th career World Cup win and 11th in Lake Louise.

"We do our best every day and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't," Vonn said. "Thankfully this weekend everything worked out really well."

The only other women's sweep at Lake Louise was German Katja Seizinger in 1997. Tis is the second three day sweep of Vonn's career after winning a pair of downhills and a super G in Haus im Ennstal, Austria in January 2010.

Julia Macuso joined Lindsey on the podium on Sunday, placing third in Super G.

Said Mancuso, "it's nice to have a good result and I can't wait to rip up the Beaver Creek hill. The hill looks really challenging so I think it wll be a lot of fun. Watching the men's race it was very turny, steep and always moving - and that's the kind of hill I like."

Due to a lack of snow in Val D'Isere, the women's alpine tour now moves to Beaver Creek, CO - site of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships - for a Dec. 7 super G. It will be the first women's World Cup race to be held in Beaver Creek.

reviews of Lindsey Vonn's Historic Hat Trick
Nice to see this kind of coverage of World Cup Ski Racing! Especially, since arguably we have the best U.S. Women's Ski Team we have ever had right now, with both Vonn and Mancuso scoring multiple podiums results so far.
