Don’t hang up the boards just yet. After receiving consistent late-season snowfall—with more in the forecast—Colorado's Vail, Breckenridge, and Aspen Highlands, and Vermont's Mount Snow announced this week they will extend their ski seasons one additional weekend. Vail and Breck will reopen April 19-21, Highlands April 27-28, and Mount Snow April 20-21.

Breck has received more than five feet of snow in April, Vail reported 24 inches since closing last Sunday, and Highlands reported 33 inches in the past seven days.

“After skiing some amazing powder turns on Closing Day and more heavy snow in the forecast this week, we just don’t have the heart to shut down Breck’s lifts just yet,” said Pat Campbell, senior vice president and COO at Breckenridge Ski Resort. “We can’t deny how great the conditions are, so this is a great opportunity for all of our guests to take advantage of a few extra days and enjoy more of the spring skiing and riding we all love here in Breck.”

Vail, Breck, and Mount Snow have already held closing-day parties, and Highlands’ notorious bash will remain on schedule for April 21, despite the resort’s additional weekend of operation.
