It's summertime. In other words, you need a vacation. Everyone else might be heading to the coast this weekend, but not you. You're going to Vermont. The antithesis to the frenetic Jersey Shore, Stowe, Vermont, is the perfect place to spend a long weekend. Here’s how.

Day 3

Before you hit the road, do yourself a favor by avoiding the gas station breakfast burrito, and stop by the Stowe Farmer's Market. A variety of foods including pastries, poultry and produce will leave your stomach happy all the way home.

If you’re trying to fit in one last activity before calling it a trip, be sure to stop by the Shelburne Museum. This display of Vermont art history is one of the most eccentric in the nation, with 150,000 works dispersed among 39 exhibition buildings (25 of which are historical). Located in the Lake Champlain Valley, this quick stop off the side of Route 7 gives a different perspective of where you spent your relaxing long weekend.

As you depart take one last breath of the fresh Vermont breeze, keep smiling, and head home feeling better than you did the weekend before. This won’t be hard to do after a weekend in Stowe.
