Temps are rising as summer approaches but many skiers aren’t ready to store their boards yet. Well, you don’t have to. Winter is playing an encore, pounding the western states with fresh powder while several resorts in the Rockies and out East are still powering lifts. Many resorts close this Sunday, April 15 but some are offering discounted or even free lift tickets on their last day. Here’s a list of late season deals and resorts that plan to stay open even later into the spring.

Sunday River is offering free lift tickets on its closing day April 15. Visitors can also enjoy a closing-day BBQ at the base.

Enjoying what was most likely the last storm of the season, Saddleback gained four inches of snow this week. The resort will operate Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of the month if conditions permit.

Wildcat Mountain is re-opening for one last day on April 15. Sixteen trails will be open and lift tickets are discounted to $35.

Buy one get one free lift tickets are available at Sun Valley Resort on April 15. As part of its closing day celebration, The Baldy Sun Fest, the resort is offering live music, food, and on-mountain activities for kids.

Twenty-two inches and counting. Make your way to Snowbird for a few more days of powder turns. Most ski areas in Utah close this weekend but Snowbird will be open daily through May 13.

When in doubt, head to Arapahoe Basin in the spring. Known for having one of the latest closing days in the states, die-hards can ski at A-Basin until May 27.

After a dry winter, the snow decides to make an appearance and drop 23 inches on Squaw Valley. The resort closes April 29 but rain and sun may squash the powder so get there while the getting is good.

Mammoth Mountain was recently hit by a big storm, giving skiers over a foot of the white stuff. Temperatures are expected to stay in the lower thirties helping the snow stick around until closing day on May 28.

Head to Whistler Blackcomb to ski a few laps and then join the party. This week marks the start of the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. With freestyle competitions, live music, and plenty of beer to go around, the festival runs April 13 through April 22.
