Aspen, Colo. (X Games Press Release)-—The Crist brothers had designs on an all-in-the-family sweep of gold and silver for the second consecutive year in the Winter X Games Skier X Men's competition. Lars Lewèn had other ideas.

Taking advantage of a Skier X course slowed by snowfall, Lewèn (Stockholm, Sweden) started strong and held off Reggie Crist (Sun Valley, Idaho) and Chris Del Bosco (Vail, Colo.) to take his second Winter X Games gold medal, his fifth overall.

"I went into the race thinking it was mine, Lewèn said. "This is my sport.

Silver medalist Crist, who won Skier X gold in 2005 while his brother Zach snagged silver, took his defeat in stride as he pocketed his sixth Winter X Games medal. Zach Crist finished fifth.

"Lars got a huge start. He's super solid and doesn't make any mistakes. Crist said. "Lars has the best start in the game.

With the course slowed by heavy snowfalls, Crist knew opportunities to pass would be minimal.

"I had to avoid the sides to keep the skis going, and Lars took advantage of staying in the center, he said.

Del Bosco, whose Friday qualifying time of 55.364 was faster than both Lewèn and Reggie Crist, held off Tomas Kraus (Decin, Czechoslovakia) to take the bronze, his first at the Winter X Games. [NEXT]WINTER X GAMES 10
