Vail, CO — (News Release) - Skiers and riders can take advantage of an extra 30 minutes to experience the above average snowfall on the slopes at Vail, when operating hours extend to 4 p.m. for the remainder of the season. Starting Saturday, Feb. 4, operating hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the front side, Blue Sky Basin lifts will begin closing at 2:45 p.m. and the Back Bowls will close at 3:30 p.m. through closing day Sunday, Apr. 23.

With more than 22 feet of cumulative snowfall at the top of the mountain, Vail Mountain is eight feet ahead of the historical average for this time of year. In the past seven days, Vail has received more than two feet of snow at the top of the mountain and weather patterns have brought consistent storms to the area, much to the delight of snow lovers. The resort is 100 percent open offering skiing and riding on 5,289 acres, including 193 trails accessed by 34 lifts.
