Whistler Casual Dining

Southside Diner

Southside Diner
Southside Diner
Get a taste of old-school Whistler at this local diner.

This local diner is open all day, everyday. Located in one of the oldest commercial buildings in Whistler, visitors are transported back to the resort Whistler was 30 years ago when they sit down amongst locals for a Beltch Sandwich: bacon, eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and ham. If you’re in for dinner try the homemade chicken pot pie and meatloaf, or, if it happens to be a Friday, the Barbecue Spareribs.

A great place to catch up with the Whistler locals over a plate of apres-ski nachos.

This locally-owned bar has been a go-to spot for après deals for over 25 years. There are daily food and drink specials, which could be why the bistro is consistently voted “best local hangout” and “best patio” in the local Whistler paper each year. When you hit Citta for après deals try the nachos or the chicken wings. They’re open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. every day.

Garibaldi Lift Company

Garibaldi Lift Company
How can you go wrong in a place where Kiefer Sutherland once joined Aussie rockers the Waifs onstage for a round of "Mustang Sally"? Besides, even if the former Lost Boy doesn't show, the drinks are always strong and the botties always shaking.

Try the sex cheese, seriously.

In the middle of the action at the base of Whistler, Garibaldi is a three-ring circus of suds, skiers, and “sex cheese.” Yes, the variation on cheese fondue is a must-try while enjoying a margarita on GLC’s huge three-sided patio.
