Montana resort owes over $86 million

Moonlight Basin is in foreclosure, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. In 2007, Moonlight borrowed $100 million from Lehman Brothers, the recently troubled investment firm. Court papers were filed against the Montana ski resort, which opened just six years ago, on September 10th, claiming Moonlight owes the firm $78 million in principal and $8.3 in interest. The resorts current owners would not comment on the court filing, but claimed the resort would open its lifts this winter.
