Local government emissions to be cut or offset

Like you, we here at SKI Magazine are worried about climate change and what it might to do our sport. Which is why we're happy to report that the Municipality of Whistler -- host of the 2010 Winter Olympics -- has pledged to go carbon neutral by 2010. For Whistler, that means any greenhouse gases from government operations -- running fleet vehicles, say -- will be reduced where possible, with any remaining emissions offset with carbon credits. It's a small step, but a necessary one, and we applaud it.
