Ski School Spotlight: Adventure Sessions
Let us be abundantly clear: No one is too good or too old for ski school. A lesson with a professional ski instructor will make you a better skier. But we get it: When you only get a few precious weeks or days on snow, you're loath to spend them in a restrictive class setting, following a guy in a uniform down trails of his choosing, not yours. Vail gets it, too, which is why each of its ski schools (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly) will offer a new program called Adventure Sessions this season. More like a guided tour, Adventure Sessions are geared toward advanced and expert skiers looking to gain a locals' perspective of the mountain, and maybe a pointer or two.
Guests will be grouped with similarly adventurous skiers and an in-the-know guide, who will help the group explore parts of the mountain they might otherwise miss, including hidden stashes only the locals know about. Along the way, guides will pepper in tips to help guests improve their skiing.
