Ski School Spotlight: Online Education

SugarTube, online video instruction from Sugarbush Ski School
An innovative new program at Sugarbush, Vt., will keep guests learning even when they're hours away from the slopes.

Sure, there's no substitute for time in the saddle...or the ski boots. But just because you can't get to the mountain doesn't mean you can't learn how to ski or get better at it. Thanks to SugarTube, a new video-sharing platform on Sugarbush's website, anyone with access to the Internet can take a lesson from one of Sugarbush's ski school instructors.

Throughout the season, instructors will videotape their students during lessons, then post video clips to guests' private, personal account pages. Using telestrating tools (think John Madden's yellow replay pen) and voice-over, instructors will be able to provide detailed personalized analysis and tips. Students can log onto their accounts from home, review the instructors' feedback and even ask questions via email or webcam. Students can also share their videos with their online networks.
