Eastern resorts are breaking out their snowmaking equipment
Why should the West have all the fun? Following on the heels of the Colorado resorts that opened last week, Killington started cranking its snow guns today.
Employees donned headlamps and began blanketing the resort’s Reason trail at 1 this morning, turning their attention to the Rime and Upper Great Northern trails in the afternoon. The resort plans to continue snowmaking for the next four to six days and is slated to open in early November.
Other Eastern resorts are getting in on the action too: Sunday River beat Killington by more than two weeks when it started testing its snowmaking equipment on September 26. Compare that to last season's first test on October 19!

"Snow making in Colorado has been done at various times in the past as well." Snow making is done all the time in Colorado, every mountain does it every year
