Bolton Valley and Grouse Mountain are the latest resorts to build wind turbines on their hills

We've always been big fans of Massachusetts' Jiminy Peak, but when we heard they'd installed an on-site, electricity-generating wind turbine, we were doubly impressed. Jiminy's Zephyr turbine provides almost a third of the resort's year-round needs, as well as feeding any excess back into the local grid, enabling nearby towns to utilize green power without having to pay for it. But little Jiminy's contribution is making a big impression on its ski country cohorts. As we told you a few weeks ago, Vermont's Bolton Valley began construction on its own 121-foot-tall turbine this fall. And now we've learned that British Columbia's Grouse Mountain has completed construction on its Eye of the Wind turbine. More work is needed before it goes online, in 2010, but the tower's structure -- along with its ViewPod, a one-of-a-kind observation deck built at the top of the tower -- is finished. Nice work.

How about Vail pulling all their wind credits?
