Chinese Cloud-Seeding a Success

We're not sure if this is good news or bad news -- but we are sure it's weird news. China's state media is reporting that meteorologists injected special chemicals into clouds overhanging Beijing last Sunday to produce a blanket of snow over the capital. The northern provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Hebei also got snow, as well at the port city of Tianjin. A long-lasting drought has been plaguing the country's northern regions for a decade, according to the AFP news service. It'd be easy for us to get on our high horse about all this, but since we're reaping the benefits of a so-far bountiful El Niño, we'll keep our mouths shut.
