Defunct Utah Ski Resort Goes Up for Auction
[ November 6, 2009 - 2:54pm ]
Elk Mountain, south of Salt Lake City, could be yours -- for the right price
Hey, did you ever pick up that used snowcat off Craigslist a while back? No? No worries -- now you can own an entire resort. Utah's Elk Meadows, about three hours south of SLC, is up for auction until November 20 on LFC.com. Over a thousand acres and six lifts servicing 1,300 vertical feet could be yours, but come prepared: Bidding starts at a cool million. According to the auction's host, "there is some infrastructure in place," but "Elk Meadows is a project that requires vision and persistence." Maybe a subscribers-only, SKI Magazine–branded resort is in order?
