We don't know which news is better: the fact that enough of Vail Mountain is skiable that Lindsey Vonn can train on it; or that Vonn is training in Vail, where some of us wannabes can go gawk as she scorches the local course. The U.S. Ski Team star (and winningest American female skier) began training on Vail's Golden Peak yesterday, honing her form before her next World Cup stop in Levi, Finland. Vonn will return to the States in time for the Winternational at Aspen, November 28 and 29. And just in case you needed more reason to like Lindsey, she'll be skiing alongside youngsters from the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail -- and surely inspiring more than a few of them.
For the rest of us, Vail Mountain opens Friday, November 20.

Kudos to Jarnot and Garnsey and the rest of the Vail mountain staff for this sponsorship and the overall support of US racing. Well played. Thanks.
