Lindsey Vonn Crushes Lake Louise, Twice

You'll have to tell us when you're sick of reading about Lindsey Vonn. Because until that time—and maybe after it—we're going to keep telling you about her. This weekend was a big one for America's sweetheart on skis: Vonn stomped the Lake Louise World Cup downhill on Friday, and then did it again on Saturday. She narrowly missed becoming the first American to win three consecutive World Cup races on three consecutive days when Austria's Elisabeth Goergl pushed her to second place by a tiny three-hundreths of a second in Sunday's super G. Almost as if to prove she's one of the circuit's toughest women, Vonn finished Friday's race spitting blood. A bump popped her knee into her chin, cutting her tongue. "My mouth guard was the only reason I didn't completely chop off my tongue," she told reporters after the finish. The two wins and one silver this weekend bring Vonn's Lake Louise total to 11 podium places since 2004.
