Bode Miller Is Athlete of the Week

Returning-to-form American ski king Bode Miller made the top of USA Today's "Athlete of the Week" list after a big win.
On the runup to this weekend's always-thrilling Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbuhel, Austria—and just a few weeks before the 2010 Olympics—Bode Miller has received a couple of well-desrved boosts. For starters, of course, he took his first World Cup win in Wengen, Switzerland, last weekend—his first in close to two years. This week he was named the USA Today Olympic Athlete of the Week. Miller's recent history should be familiar to most ski racing fans; his up-and-down record since leaving the U.S. Ski Team (well, mostly down) had him considering retirement. But after a sluggish start to this Olympic-focused season, it now looks like Miller might be back to his usual stomping self. Here's hoping he can hold it together for three more weeks, and bring that stomping form to Vancouver.
