Ski School Spotlight: SKImmersion

Opening day at Vail Mountain, 2009

Immerse yourself in five days of on-slope instruction at VailSnowsports School

This season has been great so far: You were one of the first people on the snow when the resorts opened, you learned some sweet new tricks, maybe you even conquered those double black bowls you've been working up to. But now that the season's in full swing, it's time to kick your skiing up a notch, and the Vail Snowsports School 2010 SKImmersion program is the perfect place to do it.

During the five-day SKImmersion clinic, part of the school's Focused Learning Program, skiers learn to enhance their performance through specialized coaching techniques used by top athletes and sports psychologists, video training, cutting-edge learning tools and group camaraderie.

Because groups never exceed six people, adult intermediate and advanced participants get personalized, intensive instruction in skills such as self-coaching and making corrections, instilling the knowledge and confidence needed to truly excel as skiers.

The program also includes a boot consultation, fit and performance adjustments, access to discounted demo skis and merchandise at Vail Sports and a daily breakfast buffet at Manor Vail Lodge, which serves as the home base and designated training space to begin and end each day throughout the week. Each program begins on Sunday evening at 6 with ski days on Monday through Friday. Additional program gifts, lift and equipment offers and lodging discounts are available.
