Scenes from a Chairlift
When you ride single on a chairlift, you can meet some pretty interesting people. The Whistler Players in British Columbia have turned the intimate experience of riding with strangers into a series of vignettes for the stage, aptly called the Chairlift Revue. The popular play is an annual event at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival held in Whistler, B.C every spring. Each year, the plots and wacky characters change.
The storylines, developed and written by local writers, run the gamut from comic to tragic. This year, most of the plots center around the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but, as usual, the Chairlift Revue provides an unsuspecting audience with a night of murder, mayhem, sex and nuggets of ski-bum wisdom.
Catch the Chairlift Revue on Sunday, April 25, 7 p.m. at the Rainbow Theater in Whistler. For more details, click here.
