Snowbird Extends its Season through May
[ April 27, 2010 - 2:21pm ]
by Jennifer Davis
They don’t call it Snowbird for nothing. Thanks to 100 inches of fresh powder in April alone, spring skiing continues at the Utah resort.
As of April 26, Snowbird stands alone in Utah. The state's other ski areas have shut down for the season, but Snowbird promises skiing through Memorial Day, weather permitting.
With a mid-mountain base of 105 inches and another 1–2 feet of snow expected this week, the conditions at Snowbird are excellent. To provide skiers with even more incentive to hit the slopes, the resort has reduced its lift ticket price from $72 to $62. For $299, you can purchase an unlimited spring skiing pass, good till the end of the season.
