Spring Fever Hits Winter Park
It’s a bittersweet time. As the days grow longer and warmer, the snow slowly melts away, and another ski season ends. But, there’s still time for one last hurrah.
This weekend, several of Colorado’s ski resorts will close for the season: Vail, Copper Mountain and Winter Park. And how will Winter Park mark the occasion? With live music and pond skimming, of course.
On Saturday, April 17, guests can enjoy live music by Colorado band Home in West Portal Plaza. If you’re feeling extra adventurous after a day on the slopes, ride the free mechanical bull on the Derailer Deck.
On Sunday, April 18, Coca Cola presents Spring Splash, a pond skimming competition, in which costumed crazies compete for $4,000 in prizes. The day winds down with a concert by Lotus in West Portal Plaza. Winter Park is offering a ski free deal for the weekend: stay two nights and receive a free lift ticket for each night. Loveland and Arapahoe Basin will remain open for the next several weeks.
