Free Spring Concerts at Vail
Kiss the ski season goodbye at Vail this weekend.

Spring Back to Vail, the Colorado’s resort’s annual spring shindig, runs April 12-18. Along with the World Pond Skimming Championships held at Golden Peak on Vail Mountain, the event will feature several live concerts by high-profile artists.

On Friday, April 16, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars will perform at Solaris at Vail Village. The subject of a 2005 documentary, The All Stars formed in a refugee camp in Guinea after fleeing war-torn Sierra Leone (see clip below).

On Saturday, April 17, there’s a little something for everybody. Texas singer/songwriter and self-proclaimed white trash icon, Robert Earl Keen takes the stage at Ford Park at 5 PM. He opens for famed hip hop artist/political activist/former front man of The Fugees, Wyclef Jean, who’s taking some time off from fundraising efforts in his native Haiti.

Finally, on Sunday, April 18 the East Coast rock band, Guster, plays Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village, immediately after the Pond Skimming Finals.
