"Like a never-ending recess. This ski was nothing but good times," said one Colorado tester of the well-balanced Bacon. Logging one of the highest playfulness scores of the test, it proved to be spinny and poppy in soft snow, yet it could rattle off snappy short-radius carves on hardpack with ease. Looking for an everyday powder ski that could run a NASTAR slalom? Behold your weapon.

The Blend is part of Line's all-terrain freestyle series. With a mixture of camber and rocker and a 100-millimeter waist, the Blend is intended to excel everywhere from the backside steeps to the terrain park. It has been redesigned to be lighter this season. Its five-dimensional sidecut will allow it to make a variety of turn shapes. This ski is intended for advanced and expert skiers looking for an all-mountain twin-tip.

Eric Pollard has been tinkering with the skis, artwork, and style of Line for years. His newest pro-model series is the result of years of experience. Mr. Pollard's Opus is his preferred weapon for everything he does on snowfrom steeps to cliffs to crud bumps in the resort. Its rockered tip and tail will help it float, while camber underfoot and tight turn radius will help it maneuver in firmer conditions. It's inspired by the backcountry freestyle movement but intended to perform all over the mountain.

Review: First, everyone liked Mr. (Eric) Pollard's artwork. After that, stunning discrepancies of opinion. The Opus had highly vocal detractors; they disliked the soft flex and forward mount. But it's champions ranked it among the best. (Six of 11 put it in their top five). It feels small at first, but skis big. It's nimble, but not at the expense of power. The tapered tip and tail keep things loose in deep snow, making it one of the more forgiving fatties. And there's always something to stand on underfoot. "Soft tip and rocker give it unsinkable float," said Larson. "Great powder ski for any ability." Notes: The Mr. Pollard's Opus is a wood-core, vertical-sidewall laminate construction with early rise in the tip (15 mm of rise over 25 cm), with tapered tip and tail-all contributing to its looseness in powder.

The newly rockered Celebrity 100 is still the mainstay of Line's All-Mountain collection, built for and equal mix of powder and all-mountain conditions. Line added a dose of tip rocker-5 mm over the foremost 20 cm-to give it a smoother, looser feel on the snow. It's a metal-reinforced cap construction on a wood core, so it's built to be durable and powerful, but not overpowerful.
