Shiga Kogen, Japan, Feb. 18, 2001--Frenchman Patrick Bourgeat, who lost all of last season with a leg injury, won his second World Cup slalom in 24 hours Sunday, leading both runs to hold off Austrian Heinz Schilchegger by .15. Erik Schlopy (Park City, UT) was 25th.

Bourgeat, whose only previous World Cup victory came during the Chevy Truck America's Opening at Park City in November1998, had a two-run time of 1:48.00. He missed all of last season with a leg injury.

Schilchegger, second on the first run, finished second overall in 1:48.15 with Jure Kosir of Slovenia in third place(1:48.59). World Cup SL leader Benni Raich of Austria was sixth.

Schlopy, who had been fifth Saturday for his best World Cup SL result and was 12th Sunday in the first run, finished was25th after running into problems on his second run. His time of 1:57.49 put him outside the eight-second-back limit, so hereceived no World Cup points.

The next men's World Cup races are on Grizzlie, the 2002 Olympic downhill run at Snowbasin Ski Area - downhills Fridayand Saturday plus a super-G Sunday.
