KEYSTONE, Colo. July 27, 2004 - The popular Bluegrass and Beer Festival returns to the High Country August 7 and 8, 2004. This is Keystone Resort's largest annual festival, celebrating great music, food, drinks and sunshine in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. More than 25 microbreweries from around the region, including Keystone's own Great Northern Tavern, will showcase their finest blends of hops and barley in River Run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Featured bluegrass bands include Coal Creek Canyon, Blue Canyon Boys, Slipstream, Flying Pan Bluegrass Band, Hit and Run and Marty Jones and Pork Boilin' Po Boys.

Keystone Resort will be converting the Silvermill Courtyard into an outdoor beer patch so guests can unwind and savor a cold one while listening to live acoustic bluegrass music. Each guest will receive a designated 'Beer Garden' glass with $3 pints from an assortment of choices including beer, wine and bloody mary's.

Don't miss Peter Rowan at Park Lane Pavilion in River Run on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 8 p.m. Leading the charge of third-generation bluegrass musicians, Peter Rowan masterfully delivers a phenomenal performance packed with vocals, strings and a saxophone. Tickets can be purchased by calling (970) 496-4FUN or by visiting www.ticketswest.com. The cost is $18 for general admission and $26 for advance reserved seating.

In addition to live music and beer tasting, the festival will feature kids activities and an exciting lumberjack competition. Lumberjacks from around the region will test their skills in cross cut, axe throw, accuracy fall and more. The action will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the north side of River Run in the Montezuma parking lot.
