BEAVER CREEK, CO - (News Release) - San Francisco flavor meets the colorful Colorado Rockies at the new Beaver Creek Wine and Spirits Festival, Sept. 13-15, 2007. San Francisco-area celebrity chefs and winners of the San Francisco International Wine Competition and San Francisco World Spirits Competition will pair food, wine and spirits with guided outdoor adventures in Beaver Creek. Wine and spirits tastings, seminars, winemaker dinners and a performance with renowned comedian Craig Shoemaker will round out the weekend.
"Golden aspens and mountain views provide the perfect backdrop for this interactive and educational festival. Outdoor enthusiasts, foodies, wine and spirits fans and comedy lovers can indulge," said Tony O'Rourke, executive director of the Beaver Creek Resort Company.
The "Walk and Wine" outdoor adventure pairing will treat participants to a wildflower hike led by experienced guides followed by a wine pairing luncheon. Fly fishing enthusiasts can learn or hone their casting skills on the river and enjoy a seafood luncheon as part of the "Fly Fish/ Eat Fish" pairing. Renowned comedian Craig Shoemaker will provide plenty of laughs during a live "Cocktails and Comedy" performance at the Vilar Center for the Arts.
Additional offerings include wine and spirits tastings, seminars and winemaker dinners.
Participating San Francisco-area celebrity chefs include Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys, Richard Sandoval of Modern Mexican Restaurants, and Joseph Manzare of Zuppa. Up to five celebrity chefs and several Beaver Creek chefs are expected to participate.
Anthony Dias Blue of Blue Lifestyle presents an educational experience for wine and spirit lovers with a series of exclusive seminars, tastings and winemaker dinners. Blue is a published author, columnist, TV and radio personality. He is the Executive Director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest and most influential wine judging event in the United States, and the Founding Director of its sister event, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
