Want to join the SKI Magazine team? Become an intern. We offer editorial-, web-, photo- and art-specific internships.

Editorial and Web Internships: We offer a standard three-month internship, which gives interns a brief glimpse into the magazine's inner workings. During the summer months, they will assist the staff in producing our three biggest issues (September, October, November) and will have an opportunity to fact-check, research, report, write and edit for the print and online version of the magazine.

We also offer a full 12-month internship, through which interns will experience a full publication cycle, eight issues a year. Interns will take part in our annual editorial planning meeting, at which we generate story ideas and review pitches from our freelance contributors. They'll be involved in the process of assigning stories to contributors, and they'll learn how the edit and art departments work together to formulate and conceptualize the layout and design of department articles and feature stories.

Duties: Interns become and integral part of our small and close-knit family. Tehy will do a significant amount of research and fact-checking, two fucntions that are immeasurably important to the production of a magazine. Assuming they prove themselves proficient at those tasks, interns will have the opportunity to write short front-of-book service pieces and news briefs, and as they get more comforable and familiear with the magazine they'll be encouraged to pitche longer articles to the editors.

Qualifications: Intern candidates should be college or graduate school students or recent grads (journalism major or enrollment in journalism program preferred, not required) who have an interest in editing and writing for a monthly consumer niche publication. They should be enthusiastic, hard working and detail oriented, and they should have some passion for/knowledge about skiing and the outdoors. SKI especially values team players who enjoy a fun working environment.

Application Instructions: Please send cover letter, resume, and three writing samples to:
