Vonn led a strong American charge. Seven of the U.S. racers finished in the top thirty.

Lindsey Vonn vaulted up the World Cup standings, capturing the super-combined, downhill, and super-G disciplines in Tarvisio, Italy, last weekend.

In Super-G, Julia Mancuso was second and Laurenne Ross fourth for the U.S. Ski Team's best finish since Jan. 14, 2007.

With six races remaining, Vonn now trails German rival Maria Riesch by 96 points for the overall title. If Vonn closes the gap, she will claim her fourth overall World Cup crown in as many years. "At this point I actually feel really relaxed. I know I have to perform if I still want to be at all in contention for the overall and that's how I'm approaching it,” Vonn said. “I have to go after it and if I make mistakes I make mistakes. But I have to try to do my best to give Maria a run for her money.”

After sitting out half of last month’s world championships due to a mild concussion, Vonn is quickly regaining her form. “I'm really happy with the way this whole weekend turned out. One of my goals at the beginning of the season was to defend my World Cup titles— so far, so good. But a lot can happen in the next two weeks."

The women's tour now moves to Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic, for slalom races March 11 and 12 before finishing in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, at the World Cup finals March 16-20.

Curious about how Vonn does it? This weekend, March 13, Epix is premiering a new movie about her training and what happens behind the scenes.
