Maine Ski and Ride Card
Maine’s world-class ski resorts Sugarloaf and Sunday River expanded their popular Learn to Ski and Ride Card program for the 2010-11 season. Rather than learning to ski at a large, busy resort, skiers can get started at their local hill, and work their way up to a bigger, more challenging resort. After successfully joining forces with local mountains Lost Valley, Titcomb, and Camden Snow Bowl last year, the program is now adding Bigrock and Black mountains to the mix, offering a diverse set of options for beginners to get their feet wet. This unique program offers skiers and riders the opportunity to learn more gradually, on the local mountain of their choice, before tackling a larger resort. Last season, 388 participants took advantage of the Ski and Ride Cards. Cards may be purchased for $89 at any of the five participating local resorts (Lost Valley, Titcomb, Camden, Bigrock, or Black Mountain). It includes three days of skiing or riding as follows: Day 1: Ticket, rental, & lesson (at any of the five local mountains). Day 2: Ticket & rental (at any of the five local mountains). Day 3: Ticket & rental at either Sugar Loaf or Sunday River Resorts. “The huge success we saw with the Learn to Ski and Ride Card last year encouraged us to expand the program this year,” said Brad Larsen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sugarloaf. By adding Bigrock and Black Mountain we’re able to extend this great offering to additional communities and help to encourage more people to experience the joy of skiing or snowboarding.” For more information, visit Sugarloaf.com and SundayRiver.com.
