Copper Mountain, CO, Oct. 17, 2001--Copper Mountain Resort fired up the winches and cooled down the snowguns today to allow the first skiers of the season a two-day sneak peek of things to come. Ride the American Eagle up and enjoy 900 vertical feet of terrain off the Excelerator lift from 10am - 3pm today and do it all again on Thursday. The resort will then close on Friday for national race teams' yearly training, before reopening for the entire season on November 3.
During these "Red, White and Blue Days" all ticket proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross. Check out the upper portion of the mountain and preview Copper's new snowmaking improvements. Which allow Copper to run its snowmaking system near full capacity .
Lift ticket prices for these two days are a minimal $10 donation per day, which will be sent to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Season passes and Four Passes will not be valid.
