MT CRESTED BUTTE, CO - As a compliment to our early opening and a great holiday weekend, over three feet of snow pounded Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) in the last 24 hours.
"We're buried," says Mountain Manager, Roark Kiklevich, "We just got sat on by this storm."
With a base of 57 inches at the summit, skiers are relishing in the fluffy addition to their early-season addiction. Groomers are working overtime to open new runs daily so that skiers can continually access more terrain.
CBMR has been blessed by this unique storm, tripling the accumulation received by any other major ski resort in Colorado.
In addition to Colorado's Best Corduroy, now Crested Butte has Colorado's best powder! And more is on the way... over ten more inches are expected by tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!!
