Let's face it, a trip to ski country isn't cheap. With the cost of food, lodging, lift tickets and the occasional rentals, a ski vacation is enough to drive you to the poor house. However some resorts offer great deals, but do not publicize them. Here is a sneak peak at some of the "local deals" found at a few resorts around the country.

Snowshoe Mountain, W. Va.
Every Tuesday at the Junction, get $1 appetizers at the closest eatery to the lifts. The one-buck appetizers range from alligator ribs to zesty wings.

Snowbird, Utah
Kids 12 and younger ride the chairlifts free with a paying adult. Limit two kids per adult and there's a $10 upgrade for tram tickets.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo.
Tail-end-of-the-season screamin' deals include two nights lodging in a condo and a two-day lift ticket, starting at $113 per person. For details call 800-544-8448, or visit www.CrestedButteResort.com.

Know of any others? If so, write to mdrummey@skimag.com with your inside scoop on other ski country bargains. If your scoop is good, we'll print it in our November issue. We want to hear about everything cheap¿from deals on lift tickets, lodging, food, gear and clothing to slick tips on penny-pinching your way around ski country. Include phone numbers and websites where possible and include your name as well.
