National Ski & Snowboard Expo - Washington D.C.

Springfield, Virginia Nov 2, 2004 — Winter arrives a bit early again this year with the return of the 17th annual National Ski & Snowboard Expo to the Washington, D.C. area, Nov. 12-14, 2004. The three-day Expo will be held at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. The show is presented by Subaru. Admission is $10 and includes a one year subscription to your choice of "SKI "SKIING or "TRANSWORLD SNOWBOARDING* This year, once again, admission will also include the new Warren Miller movie titled "Impact

Representatives from U.S., Canadian and European ski resorts, as well as manufacturers and retailers will be exhibiting their products and distributing their information during the Expo. Low cost learn to ski and snowboard packages featuring lift tickets, lessons and rental equipment will be featured at this year's event. Don't miss the mega ski swap and a super sale, featuring preseason values, along with the latest in ski and snowboard equipment, fashions and accessories. Several large retail outlets will be selling all weekend and vendors have promised a frenzy of great deals. As always, unique specials will be available at the swap, which will benefit the Virginia Special Olympics.

"We're excited about kicking off the 2004 skiing/boarding season with the return of the Expo to the Washington, D.C. area, said Fred Zedeck of Zedeck Associates, which annually produces the winter tour. "This has become a well attended and eagerly anticipated early season event for the area's many skiers and boarders and those considering getting started in the sports. This year we have a special "Winter Feels Good Pavilion sponsored by Gatorade, which will feature snowshoe demos and free lift pass books for 4th graders provided by the Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association.

"Impact, the latest effort from Warren Miller Entertainment, another annual harbinger of the coming season, will be shown throughout the weekend. The movie runs every two hours. Special demos, retail programs and the latest in Virtual Reality skiing will be featured throughout the Expo. Sunday River Ski Resort is sponsoring this year's Virtual Reality giant down hill race with the winner getting a ski vacation for two to Sunday River. Click here to watch the trailer.

The Dulles Expo Center can be reached by the Beltway to I-66 west and Route 28 north. The center offers plenty of free parking for Expo attendees. Expo hours are 4-9 p.m., Fri. Nov. 12; 10 a.m. — 8 p.m., Sat. Nov. 13, and 11 a.m. — 6 p.m., Sun. Nov. 14. Ski Wisp lift passes will be given to the first 500 attendees on Friday. Free drawings and prizes, will be given out hourly throughout the weekend, as well as the chance to win the grand prize of a ski vacation for two to any one of five Vail Resorts.
