Vacationers can stay in Quebec City or at the base of either Stoneham or Mont Sainte-Anne and explore the two areas plus another regional area called Le Massif, with one multi-day lift pass.Stoneham is a 300-acre ski area with a 1,930-foot vertical set in a horseshoe-shaped valley just 20 minutes north of Quebec City. More than half of the slopes are lit for night skiing, and snowmaking covers 95 percent of the mountain. The learn-to-ski challenge is a three-day guaranteed-to-learn package. The bar is a lively place after skiing.
With 428 skiable acres, Mont Sainte-Anne offers more variety of terrain. Many of the trails are longer here than at Stoneham, and even beginners can explore the entire 2,000-foot vertical. Better skiers and riders can explore the terrain used for women's alpine and snowboarding World Cup events.
Both areas have covered chairlifts, and Mont Sainte-Anne has a gondola to combat the northern cold. Both have childcare facilities and children's ski schools. Day ticket prices are $32 for Mont Sainte-Anne and $26.50 for Stoneham.
