Wagner

The roof of the otherwise humble Wagner Custom Skis factory sprouts a big, sleek solar array, and inside his sun-powered lab, mad inventor Pete Wagner builds skis in an unusual way—recycling waste to make his molds, for starters. His creations are consistent tester favorites, even without the extensive customization process, which is Wagner’s hallmark. Every pair is built to customer specs, including the graphic, and priced accordingly, starting around $1,800.

Origin: Placerville, Colo.

Ski Shown: 100

MSRP: From $1,750

Tip/Waist/Tail: 137-100-121

Wagner supplied this noncustom model for testing. Its versatile rocker-camber blend made it an ideal all-conditions ski.
