Inspired by now-defunct Northeastern cut-price institution Filene’s Basement’s “Running of the Brides”, Okemo will discount their lift tickets to $59 from their usual midweek $77 for brave souls skiing in formal attire. Also they’re giving away free chicken wings, because there’s nothing like tucking into barbecue in your old prom dress after a day of cruising the groomers.
“This is a little more for people who don’t want to do a traditional Valentine’s activity. It’s more unique than your typical chairlift speed dating, and who knows, maybe we’ll even have ‘bridesmaids’ and ‘groomsmen’ getting together,” said Bonnie MacPherson, Okemo’s director of public relations.
To immortalize just how unforgettable skiing in your brother’s tux might be, there will also be a photo opp for all the “bridesmaids.”
