The German binding brand arguably launched the whole freeride-AT craze four years ago with its wildly successful Duke binding. though it’s not appreciably lighter than a traditional alpine binding, the Duke offers uncompromising— some say superior— downhill performance along with freeheel tourability. It, too, works with any type of boot sole, as does Marker’s newest offering, the Tour, which is much lighter than the Duke and is intended as a direct competitor to the Fritschi.
