Hotel Hot List: Lumiere
Modern comes to Telluride’s Mountain Village, but it’s not just modern in décor. Lumière, which opened in December 2008, adopts a different way of thinking about hotel service. For one, there’s no front desk. Each guest is escorted directly to his or her room, which already has a fire burning in the hearth and a glass of wine waiting on the counter. The units are all suites and range from one to four bedrooms, each with a kitchen, gas fireplace and flatscreen TV, though considering every room has a view of the San Juans, you likely won’t even turn it on. $319–$2,549; lumieretelluride.com
