New construction at Jay Peak isn’t a common occurrence, so the Tram Haus deserves closer inspection. You’ll like what you see. The property opened this season with 57 studio to three-bedroom suites in pole’s reach of the tram and the Flyer Quad. A lot of thought went into the place, with old tram cable used throughout the hotel, furniture made from local maple and manufactured by nearby Lyndon Furniture, and comfy wool throws from Johnson Woolen Mills, a few towns away, scattered about. Rooms are generously sized, and a new restaurant, Alice’s Table, joins an in-house cafe and bar, all of which go a long way to spicing up this old-school hill. $99–$305; jaypeak.com
