Turning Points: The Long and Short of Skiing Bumps
Moguls are like snowflakes: No two are the same. Each has its own size and shape, and that’s what makes bump skiing a challenge. The trick is to synchronize your movements with the contours of the bump field. This requires you to make some turns with your legs extended, and some with your legs flexed. And you have to be able to twist your skis at different speeds—sometimes fast, sometimes slow. When your movements match the ups and downs and ins and outs of the terrain, the road gets a lot smoother. Put it all together, and you’ll impress anyone who’s watching.
