How Tahoe Got 200 Inches in 10 Days
Cold, Moist Air Got Stuck
Photo: Joel Gratz

Sometimes the pattern of ridges and troughs gets stuck – it just doesn’t change very much for a few weeks. This happens all the time, but the exact location of the ridges and troughs is key.
