How Tahoe Got 200 Inches in 10 Days
Keep Doing the Snow Dance
Photo: Sally Francklyn

What happened in Tahoe in late March 2011 is not a “strange” or “weird” atmospheric event; weather patterns often get stuck and persist for many weeks. However, Tahoe was in the right place at the right time, and it’ll be hard to forget this stretch any time soon. If you know someone who did a Tahoe snow dance just before this stormy period, buy ‘em a beer and ask them to start dancing again.
