Ski the 14ers
Early Morning Ascent
Last January, two-time world extreme skiing champion Chris Davenport completed his epic quest to climb and ski all 54 of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks in one year. In doing so, the 36-year-old Snowmass resident became the second person ever to ski all of the Colorado's highest peak — following Lou Dawson, who did it over a 13-year span. Ski the 14ers is a new coffee table that celebrates Davenport's achievement with stunning photography and captivating first-hand narrative highlights of his journey that included more than 200,000 feet of climbing and skiing. Here Davenport skis toward 14,048-foot Handies Peak in the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado on April 26, 2006.
